Maulee Foundation is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all forms within our organisation and supply chains. As a UK-based NGO dedicated to driving long-term change through empowerment, inclusivity, and innovation while bringing together charities and the public sector in joint endeavours, we recognise our responsibility to operate ethically and transparently, ensuring that our activities do not contribute to modern slavery or human trafficking.

 

Our Commitment

We are steadfast in our commitment to upholding human rights and combating modern slavery and human trafficking. We fully comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and expect our partners, suppliers, and stakeholders to adhere to the same high standards.

 

Organizational Structure

Maulee Foundation operates across various sectors: education, healthcare, livelihood, women's empowerment, disaster relief, and resilience. We work with numerous partners, including other NGOs, suppliers, and volunteers, to achieve our mission. Our operations and supply chains extend both locally within the UK and internationally.

 

Risk Assessment and Due Diligence

To mitigate the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking, we have implemented a robust risk assessment process across all our operations. This includes:

• Conducting thorough due diligence on new and existing suppliers to ensure they comply with ethical labour practices.
• Regularly reviewing and assessing the potential risks of modern slavery within our supply chains.
• Ensuring that our recruitment practices are fair, transparent, and exploitation-free.

 

Policies and Training

We have established clear policies and procedures aimed at preventing modern slavery and human trafficking, including:

• Anti-Slavery Policy: Outlining our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and the steps that we take to prevent it.
• Whistleblowing Policy: This policy provides a secure and confidential way for employees and stakeholders to report any concerns regarding unethical practices.
• Supplier Code of Conduct: Requiring all suppliers to adhere to ethical standards and practices.

To reinforce our commitment, we provide ongoing training to our staff and volunteers, ensuring they are equipped to recognise and report any signs of modern slavery or human trafficking.

 

Monitoring and Reporting

We regularly monitor our operations and supply chains to ensure compliance with our anti-slavery policies. Any concerns or breaches are quickly reviewed, and corrective actions are taken.

This statement has been approved by the Board of Trustees and is reviewed annually to ensure its effectiveness and relevance.

 

This statement covers 1 September 2024 to 31 August 2025 and was approved by the board of directors at a meeting.
